As a kind of coda to Creepiness, I have published a guide to creepiness in Star Trek at the Daystrom Institute. I didn’t go through the comments so apologies if this came up already, but it’s interesting that Data never comes across as creepy, though the “Uncanny Valley” phenomenon would seem to offer plenty of opportunity for him to be so portrayed.
No one mentioned Data that I can recall, even though the rest of the crew often seemed creeped out by him in the first couple seasons.
