Well at least Ugaritic injected some energy into the academic biblical studies publishing industry. I still consistently come across articles citing Ugaritic parallels. What are those ‘babes and infants’ doing in Psalm 8? Well there was that vague reconstructed allusion to child-deities in CTU 1.113 . . .
Adam, you mentioned somewhere that you reviewed or will review Flusser’s History of the Devil. Can you say where/when that will come out? My Googling is not telling me anything and I have been interested to see your take on this book as Flusser is one of my favorite thinkers and this is his weirdest book (to me, that is, although the squid book is a close second). Thanks for any information.
I read the book but wound up passing on the review, because I literally did not know what to say.
Ah, too bad for me. But I see your position. A very weird book even by Flusser’s standards.
